Overview
As materials become stronger and parts become more complex, traditional presses need to make sacrifices in speed, tonnage, and flexibility.
Having a press that can be optimized for each part being made allows stampers to be more productive with less equipment. SEYI servo presses can be used in all stamping applications and industries to meet users’ unique demands and applications.
Thanks to SEYI's powerful servo motors and control system, the press slide motion is fully programmable, allowing users to optimize the press for every part. The parameters of different slide motion profiles are easily setup on the user-friendly HMI interface. For example, the slide can move slowly through the working portion of the stroke to prevent cracking of the stamped parts but move rapidly throughout the rest of the stroke to improve productivity. Secondary operations such as in-die piercing can also be implemented into the primary tooling, improving overall efficiency, and reducing costs.

SEYI offers 7 default motions and 1 free motion profile in our servo control. Here is an introduction to some of the most frequently used motions.


Link Motion: Programmable and optimized 

A rapid approach with a programmed slowing of the slide speed at a specified location can offer increased productivity, better quality, reduced reverse tonnage, and improved tool wear.


Half Motion: Increased throughput
By reducing the stroke length of the press, SEYI servo presses can eliminate unnecessary press movement, increasing the production output and saving on electrical power consumption.


Hold Motion: A useful alternative for hot stamping
Hold motion pauses the slide motion at B.D.C. for a programmed time interval, allowing a heated blank to form and cool with the die. Compared to traditional hot stamping processes, production rates can increase 20% or more, operating costs can be reduced up to 50%, and electrical power consumption can be reduced by up to 70% or more.


Free Motion (Coining): Suitable for difficult to form materials

Springback effect can be reduced or eliminated by hitting the material multiple times at B.D.C. Often, this coining or restriking motion can be done in a single die station.


Vibration Motion: Possible to reduce die stages
This motion can be used for deep drawing while providing high accuracy and quality. The number of die stations can be reduced, resulting in lower tooling costs and higher productivity. This motion is also suitable for tapped hole production.
